Newcestown v Youghal 17/9/2011

The premier intermediate hurlers remain in the championship after last Saturday night's semi-final against Youghal in Pairc ui Rinn finished honours even on a score line of 2-9 to 1-12.  Playing against a very strong wind in the 1st half Newcestown raced into a 1-3 to 0-1 lead after the opening 7 minutes with the goal coming from Eoin Kelly.  Youghal came back into the game and had a goal of their own after 13 minutes from a 21 yard free. By half time Youghal had taken a two point lead.  Earlier in the second half Youghal took a command of the game and were in a commanding position with 5 minutes remaining.  A second goal late on by Kelly ensured the sides will need to do it all again.
