The senior footballs remain in the championship after an epic quarter final contest against Carbery Rangers finished all square in Clonakilty last Saturday evening.  Rangers were quicker out of the blocks and lead by 0-3 to 0-1 after 15 minutes before Newcestown clawed their way back into the game and by half time were leading 0-6 to 0-5.  Little separated the sides in the second half until a well taken goal by Hugh Curran gave Newcestown a two point lead.  However,  Carbery Rangers responded with two points to leave the sides level.  A point by Barry Horgan looked to be the winner in the 59th minute but Carbery rangers got a last gasp equaliser in the last seconds of injury time.  Final Score 1-9 to 0-12.
