Intermediate Hurling League 13/3/2011

The premier intermediate hurlers got their league campaign off to a winning start against St.
Catherines last Sunday evening in Newcestown. After a slow start, the home side thundered into
the game and by half time lead on a score line of 2-6 to 0-7 with both goals coming from Fionn
Keane. Newcestown continued where they left off in the second half and a third goal from Eoin Kelly
further increased the St. Johns outfit position. Thereafter St.Catherines came back into the game
with some well taken goals. However, Newcestown held on to record a one point victory. Final
score: 3-13 to 3-12
