Congratulations to our under 12 footballers who won the league final by beating Naomh Aban by 2-8 to 2-5 this morning (Saturday 26 October 2013) in Baile Bhuirne. Both sides displayed some great skills and teamwork despite the torrential rain and heavy conditions underfoot. The half time score was Newcestown 1-4 Naomh Aban 1-3.

The squad on the day consisted of: Tadhg Galvin, Daire McAree, Eoghan Collins, Olan Walsh, David Buckley, Darragh Buttimer, Darragh O'Riordan, Brian Murphy, Tom Flanagan, Seamus O'Sullivan, Ciarán Durkin, Darragh Collins, Edmund Kenneally, Ross Power, Cathal Wilson, Adam Giles, James Ryan, Rory Murphy, Colm O'Donovan, Carlos O'Mahony, Emmett Donegan.

Well done also to the mentors who have shown great committment to this group of players.

Conditions were equally bad last Monday night (21 October 2013) when the same team defeated Bandon in the semi-final in Bandon on a scoreline of Newcestown 2-6 Bandon 0-9. Both teams were tied at 4 points each at half time. The Newcestown lads showed great deteremination in the second half and were deserving victors in the end.
