u16 Girls Edge to Victory in Camogie County Quarter Final

Newcestown GAA grounds was the venue for one of the most tightly contested camogie matches seen to date. Newcestown played host to Brian Dillons in the u16 A Camogie County Quarter Final on Sunday 21st September.   Newcestown got off to a good start building up a lead of 1-3 to no score early on.  Fifteen minutes in, Brian Dillons picked up a few scores to narrow Newcestown's lead, but Newcestown managed to stay ahead, and at half time, the score was 2-5 v 1-4 in Newcestown's favour.  
The second half was a closer affair, with just 2 points separating both sides.  Newcestown attempted to edge ahead on a number of occasions, but Brian Dillons held on to close the gap to just one point.  Newcestown goal keeper, Orla Dinneen pulled off two crucial saves in the dying minutes, with Newcestown doing just enough to secure a well deserved one point victory.  
Final score: Newcestown 2-9 v 2-8 Brian Dillons.
