Carbery Final of Scór na bPaistí 2017

The Carbery Final of Scór na bPaistí took place in Ballydehob on the afternoon of Sunday, February 19th 2017.

In the INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC category the team representing Newcestown Hurling Club came second.
  • Maighreád Kiely on fiddle and Fiachra O'Donnchadha on fiddle, 
  • Dan Flanagan on banjo 
  • Hugh Flanagan on concertina 
  • Humphrey Canty on tin whistle and bodhrán
In the SOLO MUSIC category Seán Deasy (on the Banjo) representing Newcestown Football Club came first and goes forward to the County Semi-Final in Ovens on Saturday March 10th at 7pm.

The following 8 girls representing Newcestown Camogie Club competed in the RINCE FÓIRNE and the SET DANCING. 
  • Jennifer O'Donovan
  • Karen O'Sullivan
  • Maria O'Donovan
  • Orlaith Deasy
  • Abbie Sheehan
  • Clodagh Allen
  • Amy Sheehan
  • Katie Allen
 They got second place in the Set Dancing competition.

Orlaith Deasy represented Newcestown Camogie Club in the the SOLO DANCE competition.

In the BALLAD GROUP competition Evan Keane, Hannah Hayes, Orlaith Deasy and Katie Applebe represented Newcestown Camogie Club

In the QUIZ competition there were two teams:
  • The first representing Newcestown Hurling Club consisted of Fiachra O'Donnchadha, Sarah Applebe & Ciarán O'Donovan
  • The second representing Newcestown Football Club consisted of Eoin McSweeney, Niall Kelly & Ronan McSweeney
