Newcestown under 16 hurlers got off to a good start in the Rebel Óg West under 16 B hurling championship by beating St Patrick's in Enniskeane on Thursday 16 July 2015.

Newcestown started well and had a few points on the board despite the wind and wet conditions.
The game changed in the space of a few minutes with two goals from Sean Galvin. The first one came after he gained possession in the corner and ran towards goal, to avoid being hooked he blasted the ball with his left foot to the far corner of the goal. His second was similar although finished with the stick. Padraig Collins added a third before half time to give Newcestown a lead of 3-7 to 0-1 at half time. Newcestown's dominance continued in the second half with Daire McAree adding a fourth goal. The final score was Newcestown 4-14 St Patrick's 1-3.

This victory was not easily come easily, the work rate of the whole team from start to finish was exemplary.
